I have been singing since before I could walk or talk according to my mom! The great musical influences on my life came in some part from records my parents played, especially ones from the New Orleans area. Anything bluesy and cool has always gotten my attention. Female vocalists of my parent’s era, the “Queen of Soul”, Aretha Franklin, along with Etta James, Koko Taylor and Bonnie Raitt helped shape me vocally.

After playing together for 25+ years in The Stratoblasters, Dallas guitar legends Jimmy Wallace and Jerry Branch decided to revisit their roots. Heavily influenced by the sounds of Eric Clapton, The J’s explore everything from Dylan, Hendrix, The Allman Brothers, and “Slowhand” himself. To mix a little of the new school with the old, and to balance out the testosterone with some hormones, Jimmy and Jerry welcomed vocalist Jenny Ayers to round out the three J’s.

And while they may not be J’s by name, drummer Anthony Ayers and bassist Aram Doroff are a pair of aces in the hole that finish off the band’s eclectic bluesy sound.
